In 2006, when electric bikes were first made available at the E Shed Markets in Fremantle, WA, we opened for business. It marked the beginning of a movement that would eventually come to dominate the Western Australian Electric tricycle market. Power-assisted cycling piqued the interest of caravaners and commuters at first, but soon became a popular mode of transportation for anybody looking for a change of pace.
With our retail store, eBikers already in business, we launched our own brand of electric bikes on the 17th of August 2009, Ryder Bikes. Our company’s name came quickly. Our first grandchild was born at the same time that we introduced Ryder Bikes to the world. The young man is called Ryder. Using his name for the company was a no-brainer. The two Ryders are now adults and a great help to us in many ways.
